Collect name cards of places you want to return to by taxi, try to avoid being road kill (much safer than in the past but still dangerous especially outside Taipei) , don't tip (except small loose change unless you want to impress or reward someone) , always carry cash ( cash is king here), and be prepared to be treated as a money laundering drug lord when opening a bank account.
Pete,
My nephew arrives in Taiwan Sunday for an extended work stay. Any suggestions, do's/don't I can pass on to him?

Appreciate the advice, will definitely let him know. Thanks!
