Boston Marathon Bombing-10th Anniversary
So this Patriots Day (April 17,2023) is the 10th Anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing (April 15,2013)
AT 2:49 P.M. ON APRIL 15, 2013, two pressure-cooker bombs exploded near the finish line of the world-famous Boston Marathon on Boylston Street, both within seconds of one another and happening about 100 yards apart.
The back-to-back bombings killed three, injured more than 260 people and sent one of America’s biggest cities into a state of fear and uncertainty as police launched a chaotic multi-day manhunt for who was responsible. Busy city streets were empty. Red Sox games canceled. News stations carried wall-to-wall coverage.
Four days later, that search came to a dramatic end when Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was taken into custody by Boston police shortly after his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in an overnight shootout.
The Red Sox just finished playing their early baseball game that day, winning 3-2 over Tampa Bay on Mike Napoli’s walk-off double, They quickly showered, trying to beat the traffic, and boarded the bus headed to Logan Airport for Cleveland

I was in Boston at this time visiting family. Having lunch at a Marina Bay Tavern with my Mother and Sister when the TV was interrupted with breaking news of the explosions. The Bartender turned off the music to listen until everyone got bored and asked him to turn the music back on and so everyone ignored what was happening. A year later I returned and some of them were wearing Boston Strong T-shirts
One of the more interesting events happened after the Bombing. Shelter in Place Orders for Boston Residents due to 2 armed kids on the loose. I remember thinking how stupid that was, totally out of proportion to the scale of threat. Hundreds of thousands of people ordered to stay home.
Didn’t bother me, nice Sunny Day getting rays while sitting on the outdoor porch at a beach front home as police cars racing up and down the street with sirens blaring to remind everyone Danger, Danger.
I contemplated the odds of being shot by cops if I took a walk on the empty beach. Didn’t like them much.

In May -Following the Boston Marathon Bombing the Pentagon announced new rules of engagement allowing military forces operating on American soil to provide support to local law enforcement. The Pentagon’s announcement further stated that it had the power, in the case of “emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances.”
So basically the Pentagon can go in on its own initiative and the implication is the President needs no authorization from local authorities to authorize it.
In June a military occupation drill of the city of Boston in which more than a million residents were told to “shelter in place” while machine gun-mounted armored vehicles patrolled the streets supported by an armada of military aircraft. Named Operation Urban Shield. This was not conducted until after the April Boston Marathon but training for the exercise had been ongoing for months before the bombing was being done.
Curiously the exercise and the Bombing and aftermath itself were eerily similar and both led to “Shelter in Place “ orders used for first time in USA.
Embarrassing ties between Graham Fuller (Formerly vice-chair of the National Intelligence Council,he also served as Station Chief in Kabul for the CIA) and a network of CIA-backed Caucasus Jihadists came to light in the aftermath of the April 2013 “Boston bombers” attack.
The two accused “bomber” brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, had an uncle born in Chechnya named Ruslan Tsarnaev. Ruslan was married in the 1990s until their divorce in 1999 to Samantha A. Fuller, the daughter of Graham E. Fuller. Fuller even admitted that “Uncle Ruslan” had lived in Fuller’s home in the suburban Washington area and that Fuller went several times to the Caucasus and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia just as the CIA was heating up the Chechen Islamic terror against Moscow, allegedly to “visit” his daughter and son-in-law.
Ruslan Tsarnaev, who changed his name to Ruslan Tsarni, had worked in the past for companies tied to Dick Cheney’s Halliburton, as well as working as a “consultant” in Kazakhstan on the Caspian Sea in the 1990s with the State Department’s USAID, which has been widely identified as a CIA front.
